BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SURVIVEiT® is a 501(C)(3) Public Charity under federal tax guidelines.
The Board of Directors retains fiduciary responsibility for SURVIVEiT® and will review both the mission outcomes and financial performance of the organization.
Matthew T. Malone, D.O. is a physician and strong advocate for quality cancer care who is board certified in three specialties: Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Malone is the Medical Director of Behavioral Health at the University of Arizona School of Medicine.
Dr. Malone graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1997 with a B.S. in biology with chemistry and psychology minors. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University in 2001 where he was the outstanding graduate in psychiatry and neurology. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2002 before completing his psychiatry residency in 2005 at Hennepin-Regions program in Minneapolis. He specialized in geriatric psychiatry from Yale University and worked for Connecticut Hospice in 2006. Increasingly involved in administrative roles to improve healthcare delivery, he completed the Executive Leadership of Healthcare Professionals Certificate with Cornell University in 2011.
Dr. Malone has been recognized both locally and nationally for his dedication to educating patients and staff alike. He won the Delbert L. Brown Award for his teaching at the University of South Dakota. In 2008, he received the South Dakota for the Heroes in the Fight Award from the National Alliance for Mental Illness. In 2010, the American Psychiatric Association presented him the Nancy C.A. Roeske, M.D. Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Education.
Kendra Siemonsma has over 16 years of project management experience with an emphasis on strategic initiatives that involve organizational change. Kendra previously served on the board for Family Connection, a nonprofit with the mission to assist children impacted by loved ones in the prison system.
She currently works for Midco as the Director of Project Management and oversees key strategic initiatives for the organization.
Additionally, Kendra is a Community Impact volunteer for the United Way and Past Board Chair of the local Project Management chapter. In her spare time she enjoys reading, mentoring, and spending time with her family and friends. Kendra is a graduate of the University of South Dakota and currently resides in Sioux Falls with her husband Anthony and three boys.
Steve Mix is Founder and President of Limestone, a dedicated team of professionals in South Dakota that provide quality accounting and consulting services to several non-profit organizations. Steve’s vision is to help business owners achieve success by building from a solid foundation of proven processes.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Accounting. He also has a minor in Chemistry. Steve has served in the Jaycees, President of the Cosmopolitan Club, President of Crime Stoppers, as well as expensive experience with several other nonprofit organizations.
Tina Trenkler is a New York City-based consultant, specializing in business operations, enterprise systems, product development and outsourced COO roles. She started her career as an environmental engineer before shifting into consumer goods and services and later digital health applications. She has been a founder of two companies and held executive-level positions for early stage startups to large global businesses. Tina is passionate about building engaging products, great companies and loves being a part of organizations that make a difference.
Tina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. She has volunteered with Arts, Technology, Food Bank and AIDS organizations.
As a recent survivor of colorectal cancer, Tina is thrilled to be working with SURVIEiT to help fellow cancer patients, caretakers and survivors navigate the complex landscape of finding the best care and support.
